Set Your Goals |
|
Goal #1- Think Holistically. See yourself in your entirety as a whole person, not as an isolated breast, lung or kidney.
|
Comparatively few doctors practice General Medicine. Our Healthcare system has become so specialized that often the most difficult decision a general practitioner must make is what specialist to send you to. Unfortunately, the specialist sometimes fails to notice other aspects about you that may be causing the problem. |
|
Goal #2- Learn about Alternative Therapies.
|
Every health situation involves the opportunity to choose a treatment solution. How can you choose the best therapeutic approach if you don't know what "tools" are available to you? Conventional medicine certainly does not hold all the answers. As hard as they try- and as much money as we spend, we still can't cure the common cold.
You need to know about finding the easiest, least invasive way to solve your problems. When doctors give you advice, often conflicting advice, you need to discover and listen to the voice within you that says, "This doesn't feel right. There's got to be another solution." |
|
Goal #3-
Learn and Ask The Right Questions
|
Is someone looking at The All of Me, not just specific parts?
What can be done to return my body to a healthy balance and optimal energy levels?
What can be done so I can maintain my body in a disease-free state?
What can be done so my body has the weapons it needs to fight off disease and un-wellness in the future?" |
Goal #4- Don't Treat the Symptom. Instead, Eliminate the Cause. |
If you are going to achieve optimum health, you must alter the way you think about disease. To do that, you will have to leave behind Medicine's tendency to find fast solutions to a specific complaint. You will have to reject the thinking that says, "You have this disease, it is caused by this germ, take this pill because it kills the
germ and therefore cures the disease." Move on.
|
How The Medical System Has Failed You |
Conventional medical treatment begins with "naming" a condition or assigning a code number to it in order to process an insurance claim. This has the effect of making you think your particular situation is a simple, compact problem whose solution should be straightforward and easy. Unfortunately, this is often not the case, so when
you take a pill, it may eliminate some- but not all of the things causing illness.
Treating stomach ache provides a good example. Your stomach hurts. You take an pill. The pill takes away the symptoms, but does nothing to kill the intestinal parasite you picked up on that vacation to Italy. Taking a pill is "Treating the Symptom"; Discovering and destroying the parasite would be " Eliminating the Cause."
|
To become truly well, we need to be considered not as a stomach, heart, or gall baldder. We need to be looked at in our entirety, wholly, or as we say, Holistically. |
Instead of one pill, we may need a combination of "treatments" , collectively known as Alternative Therapies, which permits us a better chance to address all, not merely a few, of the causes making us unwell.
Health practice is not easy! Because there may be multiple causes of our illness, accurate diagnosis may be elusive in spite of all the laboratory and blood tests ordered for us. Sometimes the prescribed drug will knock out one or more of the "Bad Guys", but others remain inside us.
Over time and, with the contributing factor of stress and negative environment, the number of "Bad Guys" inside us eventually overwhelm us and make us sick. They must be eliminated.
If illness is a complex of causes, then wellness is achieved with a complex of approaches to eliminate all of those causes. |
What Is The Solution?
|
The answer is just not what I or any doctor can do for you. You can help tremendously in eliminating the "Bad Guys" that cause disease. When removing causes, everything counts, especially "outside" or environmental factors.
Stop smoking; cut down or eliminate red meat and pork. Increase exercise. Get rest; reduce stress. Take vitamins; increase veggies. You get the idea.
Over the pages of this web site, you will get other ideas, Alternative Solutions you can use to restore the ability of your Immune System to protect you. You will discover ways to revitalize your body
and restore the good health and energy you seek.
You must be patient and persistent, especially if you are seriously ill or trying to overcome the effects of chronic conditions. It took you a long time to become unwell, and turning that around may take longer than you would hope or expect.
Much of the advice and many of the suggestions you read here have come from ongoing research and experiment. Much is based on techniques actually used and known to be effective. |
|
Not all of what you read on the Alternative Therapy Advice Website will apply to you, but you are free to take whatever you find helpful. |
Remember, just because something says, "Alternative Therapy" does not mean it is going to work for you. And just because it doesn't work for you does not mean it is worthless.
If health was easy to get, no one would be sick. There is no "One Cure".
