Photo: Tommy's Dad, glancing out the window, saw something
that immediately raised his blood pressure. He reached for one of my favorite "potions".
Sorry, I don't have a formula for Love Potion #9, but there is one formula I have used for years I would like to share with you:
|
Blood Pressure Formula
Weigh out amounts according to these proportions |
4oz. Linden Leaf
4oz. Valerian Root
2oz. Mistletoe
2 oz. Hawthorne Leaf
|
2 oz. Dandelion Root
2 oz. Hawthorne Berry
1 oz. Garlic Granules or Crystals
1/8 oz. Cayenne Pepper |
The total weight of herbs to be used for this "potion" is a shade over 17 ounces. Following directions (See Herbal Potions) cover the herbs with 2 1/4 liter of the cheapest vodka you can buy, place away from direct sun or bright lights, and stir or shake every few days. Drain after 30 days. Again,
follow instructions for how to take this potion as directed in the section of Herbal Potions. |
I started making and taking this potion probably 15 maybe 20 years ago, and continue to take it now, though it is not strong enough by itself to overcome the hypertension that runs to males in my family.
It is a great "heart tonic" and for me, and many people in my practice, it delayed or prevented the need to take stronger prescription drugs earlier in life.
So I am saying don't start making and taking this and assume you are home free. Buy a blood pressure monitor and take your pressure at regular intervals. But do vary when you take your pressure. In other words, take a reading say Monday morning, then Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. Don't take you pressure at the same time each day.
At any point in time, feel free to check with your regular physician or cardiologist, as this formula will NOT eliminate the need for medication in all instances. You certainly can, however, continue to take it along with prescription medication |
Tell your doctor about this and get his or her approval.
|
One final note- The values of what is considered elevated pressure have been lowered in recent years. Now, readings above 140 for the top pressure and readings above 80 for the bottom pressure are considered the cut-off point. If you have consistent
readings above those levels, call a physician and check it out.
