It is essential that your main effort is directed toward uncovering the cause(s) which may be keeping your body from functioning as it should. If successful, then you can determine what alternative strategies and therapies might be employed to counter-act
or remove these causes.
This is not a simple process. Often it can take a lot of time - which is the opposite of what medical practice has become. Perhaps is why medical treatment, as we know it, is so often unsuccessful.

O.K., What Causes Illness? Why Do People Get Sick |
Centuries ago, Louis Pasteur taught that disease comes from germs. Not everyone agreed with Pasteur, but because finding germs and killing them are the economic "bread and butter" of medical practice and drug company sales, little attention is paid to the other causative agents, such
as stress, environmental conditions, or our own innate ability to resist disease.
Unfortunately, we have come to value speed over nearly everything else. Popping pills is so much easier and faster.
Have you seen the commercial showing some poor soul who is having an asthma attack and is gasping for air? Pump a few squirts of mist into your mouth and "free
breathing is restored within 15 seconds."
Much easier to pump a few squirts than to discover the poor slob is working in a sealed building and reacting to the cleaning fluids used by the crew who comes in after he leaves the office each evening.
Or maybe someone should check his upper bicuspid or lower molar teeth!
Alternative Therapy practitioners, and especially holistically trained dentists, know there is often a cause and effect relationship between what is going on in your mouth and what is happening in the rest of your body.

Why Don't Drugs Do A Better Job?
|
It probably was no more than a few seconds after Pasteur made his (incorrect) pronouncement that drug makers understood a simple fact of economics: If you are sick because of germ A, and I have a drug to kill germ A, I can make some big bucks!
But there were scientists who were certain such an approach was bound to fail, because, unlike the diciples of Pasteur, they knew germs change, mutate, or become resistant. It was only going to be a matter of time before Anti-Drug-A would no longer be effective. They thought the drug companies we just trying to make money off the suffering
of others. (What a cool thought).
Since that time, drug companies find it in their best interests to ignore what we might call this "Inconvenient Truth". Now that they have come to dominate advertising for practically every segment of the TV program you are watching, they focus instead on making a "condition" out of every symptom you could ever possibly experience.
Pharmacy's enduring mantra for health care is, "You have this 'condition', we have this pill. Ask your doctor."
I hope you see how self-serving and totally financially driven this attitude is. They get richer, you get sicker. Thank you, Drug Makers.
Ignoring causes also helps us to avoid dealing with issues such as the "fattening" of our population with skyrocketing incidences of diabetes in children and young adults. Thank you, Fast Food Industry.
When you think about it, the same has been true with the cause and effect relationship between smoking and lung cancer. Thank you, Tobacco Companies.
